Maribofila 2012 is a multilateral philatelic
exhibition with participants from 18 European
countries and will take place in Leon Štukelj
University Sports centre hall in Maribor, from
24 to 27 of May 2012

In addition to philatelists from groups Alps
Adriatic Philately and Balkanfila we also have
guests from Cyprus and Portugal. The
latter also bring some symbolism since the
Portuguese city of Guimarães is one of European
Capitals of Culture 2012 (EPK 2012), together
with Maribor and partner towns.
The exhibition is set within the EPK
2012-Maribor framework. Maribofila also has
support from Federation of European Philatelic
Associations (FEPA) and honorary patronage from
the president of Republic of Slovenia Dr. Danilo
Türk.
The exhibition is being prepared by FZS
(Slovenian philatelic association) and FDM
(Maribor philatelist society) with assistance
from the main sponsor Pošta Slovenije. FD
Maribor the biggest philatelic society in
Slovenia at the moment and one of the oldest
(founded in 1933) was awarded Certificate
of Appreciation - 2011 by FEPA, for its
contribution to spreading and developing
philately.
Different classes will present 177 exhibits and
34 titles of philatelic literature. They will be
exhibited in 750 frames. The list of all

exhibition will be accompanied by lectures,
special editions and postmarks, stamp
presentations and philatelic workshops for the

ADMISSION WILL BE FREE.
There will also be a stand of Pošta
Slovenije and various other postal offices
(Hungary, Germany) and philatelic dealers as
well.
